Frank Pufall
Head Coach

Frank Pufall is in his second season as the Yellowjacket baseball coach in 2017-18.

In his first season at UW-Superior Pufall guided the Yellowjackets to 16 wins and a berth in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference tournament.

Previously Pufall spent two seasons as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD). During his two seasons the Bulldogs posted a record of 74-32 and in 2016 set a school record for wins in a season (39) on the way to winning the NSIC regular season championship.

Prior to UMD Pufall was an assistant baseball coach at Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin. Also during this period Pufall served as the head baseball coach at Washburn (Wis.) High School from 2010 through 2014. In 2013 Pufall led the Castle Guards to just their second sectional tournament in school history, ending a 62-year drought between sectional appearances.

A native of Ashland, Pufall played collegiately and graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1999 and is nearing completion of his Master's Degree in education at Minnesota Duluth. His family includes his wife Rachel and their two sons, David and Augustus.


Shaun Marshall
Assistant Coach
Director of Baseball Operations

The 2015-16 season will mark the third year that Shaun Marshall has been the Head Assistant Coach under Coach Nick Bursik.
 
Marshall's jobs with the Yellowjackets include defensive development, hitting coach, and strength and conditioning coordinator.
 
Marshall played three years for UW-Superior after transfering from Iowa Western Community College. During his time with the Yellowjackets, Marshall made the switch from outfield to infield defensively. Marshall also recieved many team accolades while a member of the Yellowjackets, winning the Sportsmanship award in 2010 and being named the Team Offensive Player of the Year in 2011. Marshall was also named All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2011.
 
Marshall graduated from UW-Superior with a degree in Business Administration-Marketing and a minor in Sports Management.
 
Marshall's coaching experience outside of UW-Superior include many youth programs in the Stillwater, Minn. area.
 
Marshall currently lives in Duluth, Minn. with his wife Brynn.
